Customer Success Story
Sartorius AG

Sartorius AG

We live in the century of life sciences, the Bio-Century. Worldwide medical knowledge is growing at a rapid pace. Sartorius is helping to ensure that new scientific insights can be translated more quickly into better patient care. They help researchers and engineers develop and manufacture medicines - from the initial idea to production. With their technologies, platforms, and partnerships, they pursue one goal: better health for more people

The Initial Situation

Tableau was introduced at Sartorius as a user-friendly frontend because it is highly flexible and easy to use. Unfortunately, there were performance problems right from the start and the availability of standard functions such as hierarchies, display attributes, currency conversion were no longer given. The problems were not acceptable in that particular form.

The Goal

The aim of our work was to optimise the use of Tableau and to use the already existing authorisation system, to guarantee a performant access to the BW data, to ensure the best possible usability for the end user and to guarantee an easy extensibility.

The Solution

As an SAP Gold Partner and specialist in the high-performance "integration" of non-SAP technologies into the SAP world, such as data visualization via Tableau, biX experts were happy to take on the problem.
However, the solution was very complex, as it required some corrections in the architecture. Finally, changes in the HANA database were necessary. The result was a high-performance system and a more than satisfied customer.

The Customer Benefit

The customer benefits from a solution that provides what he had expected with the integration of Tableau. Namely, a high-performance front-end tool and simple expandability. It is great that the standard connector can still be used and that the use of "Tableau Cloud" is also possible.
Wunderbar ist es, dass nebenbei auch weiterhin der Standard-Connector benutzt werden kann und zudem die Nutzung von „Tableau-Cloud“ möglich ist.

In our webinar of about an hour, you will learn how you can use your data stored in SAP systems more intensively to react more flexibly to market events. We will show you how to best connect Tableau to SAP systems and databases and how to overcome the following challenges:
  • High performance
  • Selection of the most suitable interface
